Cultivating Humanistic Approaches to Meet the Challenges of a Changing World

NYU Shanghai scholars conduct critical inquiry through inspiring, innovative, and groundbreaking research. They use different methods to understand diverse cultures in our changing world and cross-disciplinary and methodological boundaries. Equipped to rationally examine the past, present, and future, they explore societal thinking concepts and methods.

Since its opening in 2015, the Center for Global Asia (CGA) at NYU Shanghai has served as a hub within the NYU Global Network for the exploration of historical and contemporary interactions among Asian countries and regions. The center provides research context for reemerging connections in Asia and examines Asia’s connections with the wider world, focusing specifically on the impact these connections have had on Asian societies.
